CATCHING THEIR BREATH on the upper Hermit Trail are R.J. and Roger. We’ve been through so many rougher stretches during this trip that it seems odd we’re having any difficulty at all here where the tourists roam. But let’s face it — there’s no easy way to walk out of the Grand Canyon with a heavy pack on your back.
