SCELOPORUS MAGISTER is the scientific name of this reptile, commonly known as a desert spiny lizard. (Thanks to the herpatologically astute Ealy brothers for this info.) This one was perhaps 10 inches from head to tail. It was getting some sun along Boucher Creek just a few yards from where it empties into the Colorado River. Here's video of the
